Governor Polis and CDOT Announce First-of-its-Kind Partnership Between X Games Aspen and Bustang
Providing fans with sustainable, convenient, and low-cost travel connecting to Aspen, Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of X Games in Colorado
Pitkin County - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced a first-of-its-kind partnership between X Games and the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Bustang to provide a sustainable and low-cost travel option for fans traveling to the X Games in Aspen from Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28.
Governor Polis and CDOT are focused on providing Coloradans with more transportation options that get them to the cherished events that make Colorado the state we all love. This Bustang partnership will give Coloradans safe, convenient, and affordable travel options that allow them to ditch the stress of traffic and parking, letting them focus on enjoying X Games, and the iconic Colorado Rocky Mountains.
“Colorado is thrilled to partner with X Games Aspen to help attendees save time and money on the roads. Fresh powder is great for snow sports, but not so great for traffic, and we know this partnership will help more people get where they are going faster and safer,” said Governor Polis.
The Bustang West Line travels from Denver’s Union Station to Glenwood Springs, five times daily, between 7 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. For travel to X Games Aspen, a transfer is required in Glenwood Springs from Bustang to the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA).
To celebrate the best of winter in Colorado, this partnership debuted a custom-wrapped bus featuring X Games stars Eileen Gu, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Chloe Kim, Alex Hall, Marcus Kleveland, and Zeb Powell. The bus will also feature a custom X Games QR code allowing fans to sign up for event information via text. X Games posters and schedule cards will also be available on Bustang buses. X Games and CDOT will be promoting transportation routes and options on social media.
Bustang services a North, South, and West line, which all originate from Denver Union Station. The routes connect areas from Denver to Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and Grand Junction. The buses provide a sustainable and comfortable alternative to freeway travel to the event as all buses are equipped with WiFi, power outlets and USB ports, a restroom, and a bay for luggage, skis, and snowboards. Plus, with parking at X Games limited to the Brush Creek Lot outside of Snowmass Village, taking the bus is more convenient.
“Working with CDOT to provide a sustainable travel option to X Games Aspen will not only be better for the environment, but also can make for a better guest experience for fans coming from all over Colorado,” said Valerie Ryan, vice president of fan experience and hospitality at X Games. “Colorado has been home to X Games for 25 years and we are proud to partner with CDOT to give fans all over the state an easy, sustainable option to experience the event."
